photosmart C8180
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

The small display of my photosmart C8180 is white during power on and remain like this.

I have applied your reset procedure but it has not solved.

I also tried another reset, olding two buttons (print photo and red eyes) together whilst power on and the result was only the re-set of the printer then I cannot print nor communicate with the device.

Have you any other suggestion?

May I reload the firmware directly into the printer through a pen drive using its usb port?

In case, where can I download it? I have been looking for it on HP site but I didn't find.

Thank,

Italo

Hi @italopic,

If you'd like to update the printer, refer to -HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

If you have already performed the steps from the documentBlank Control Panel Display and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Hope this helps!

On the HP web site, for my printer, firmware section is not listed then an update is not available.

It's clear for me that there is an hw failure and I've probably already located it.

The printer is old therefore I woldn't spend money to repair, unless I'll be able to do by myself.

I respect your decision.

Have a great day ahead!
