Welcome to the HP User Community.

Your question lacks context (detail that defines the meaning of the inquiry).

"Cover" copy and "borders" can mean more than one thing.

For example,

The "cover copy" might mean that you are printing a Word document (in Word) and you are also getting a document information sheet printed each time.

How to fix:

Unwanted “cover” page in Word

Prevent Word document printout from also printing document report

File > Options > Display

Printing options

UNCHECK box “Print document properties

OK to save changes

OR

Word > Preferences > Printer

UNCHECK / Disable the document property

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is a Border ?

Borders can be added to a Word document to enhance the look of the document.

Example- Add a border to a Word Document

Borders - if these are actually "margins" must be set to accommodate the limitations of the  particular printer hardware.

For example, this DeskJet Printer requires a larger margin along the bottom edge.

Print Margin Bottom (A4)12.7 mm
Print Margin Left (A4)3 mm
Print Margin Right (A4)3 mm
Print Margin Top (A4)3 mm

If you want all the data on your document to print, the margins in your document - and all the data in that document - must be no less than 1/2 inch from the bottom of the page.

For Example,

If you set your Word margins to "Narrow" , this centers the content and meets the margin requirement for the printer.

Borders - If borders is actually defined as the "white space" edging around the boundary of an image file, the way that image / photo is printed impacts how the border is used and what part of the image is visible on the printed paper.

Note that this printer does not support Borderless printing.

Example - HP Smart - Windows - Simple Photo Print - 4x6 inch - Border
