Product: HP Officejet 4500 All-in-One Printer - G510g

I am experiencing great trouble with my Windows 7 PC not seemingly wishing to communicate with my Printer.   Because I believed it may be due to using a cheaper Black cartridge I have this morning purchased a new Black 901 HP cartridge bUT it still will not print a document though it will print a \windows Printer Test Document?   Is my PC not communicating with my printer?
