I have an older HP printer that's always worked fine. However, when I try to print now, everything seems to be working (and sounding) normal. But nothing prints out on the paper. Thoughts?

Hi @Ben2024,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Deskjet 3512 e-All-in-One Printer is not printing despite appearing to work normally, there are several potential issues you can check and troubleshoot. Here are some steps you can take.
Check Ink or Toner Levels:
- Ensure that there is sufficient ink or toner in the cartridges. Low ink levels can prevent printing.
Verify Paper:
- Make sure that you have loaded the correct type and size of paper into the printer.
Printer Queue:
- Check the print queue on your computer to ensure that there are no pending print jobs that might be stuck. You can cancel all print jobs and try printing a new document.
Connection Issues:
- Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a USB connection, check the cable and try a different USB port. If it's a wireless connection, make sure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
Restart Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.
Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:
- Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. You can check the HP website for driver updates. If needed, uninstall the current drivers and reinstall the latest version.
Run Print Troubleshooter:
- Use the built-in print troubleshooter on your computer. This feature can often identify and fix common printing issues.
Check for Error Messages:
- Look for any error messages or warning lights on the printer. These can provide valuable information about the problem.
Test Print:
- Print a test page directly from the printer. Most printers have a built-in option to print a test page. This can help determine if the issue is with the printer itself or the connection to the computer.
Inspect for Paper Jams:
- Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions that might be preventing the printing process.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
