The Wi-Fi password I must use is all lowercase letters, when trying to setup Wi-Fi link to printer the password’s first letter defaults to a capital letter.

@Qa480000, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Wi-Fi password!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you're experiencing an issue where the Wi‑Fi setup process for your DeskJet 4255e automatically capitalizes the first letter of your all‑lowercase password, which can prevent a successful connection.

Here are a few suggestions to help resolve the issue:

Disable Auto‑Capitalization:
If you’re entering your password on a mobile device or touchscreen, check if the keyboard settings have an auto‑capitalization feature enabled. Disabling this feature can prevent the first letter from being automatically capitalized.

Manual Entry:
Try manually typing the password rather than using copy‑and‑paste. Sometimes formatting issues can occur during copy‑and‑paste that might inadvertently change the case of a letter.

Firmware and Software Updates:
Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Using the latest firmware or the HP Smart app can resolve various connectivity issues. You can check for updates through the app or on the HP website.

I hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
