This would have to be the worst customer support site I have been on, I have added my printer which is a Deskjet 2800e and it won't appear.

Has anyone had constant success with direct wifi? What a joke, sometimes it works, but mostly it doesn't

Hi @GerardN,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with Wi-Fi Direct and your HP DeskJet 2800e. It can be frustrating when things don’t work as expected.

Wi-Fi Direct can be a bit hit or miss depending on various factors like router settings, network interference, or device compatibility. Here are a few steps that might help troubleshoot the issue:

  • Check Printer and Device Compatibility: Ensure both your printer and the device you're using are compatible with Wi-Fi Direct.
  • Restart Devices: Sometimes a simple restart of the printer, router, and your device can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Update Firmware: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP support website.
  • Verify Wi-Fi Direct Settings: On your printer, ensure that Wi-Fi Direct is enabled. This is usually found in the network settings menu.
  • Forget and Reconnect: On your device, forget the Wi-Fi Direct network and try reconnecting.
  • Check for Interference: Ensure that there are no devices or obstacles causing interference between the printer and your device.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
