I have hp printer envy 5052 that I bought in Canada & want to gift my dad to use it in India but am not sure if it’ll work. Especially with ink catridge replacements there as I believe all electronics generally have universal power rating of 110-240, hence should work in any continent but want to be sure before packing it for shipment in check-in luggage. Thanks

Hi @Ar_saket,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I'd like to help!

I understand you moved and the printer is not accepting the new region cartridges.

We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instructions to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

To access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

The specifications https://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c05945860 state that it indeed uses a universal power supply so you will simply need a power cord that connects to mains outlets in India or an adapter.

In terms of cartridges. The printer will work anywhere in the world with the cartridges currently installed, but when it comes time to purchase cartridges in a different geographical region, the printer will need to be regionalized as stated by @A_Gayathri
