Hi @swh1941,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP 4650 printer is not printing in color from MS Word in LibreOffice but works fine otherwise, there are a few potential issues to consider:

Printer Settings: Check the print settings in MS Word. When you go to print, make sure that the color option is selected. Sometimes it defaults to "Black and White" or "Grayscale."

LibreOffice Print Settings: Ensure that within LibreOffice, you have selected the correct print settings. Go to File > Print and check the properties to see if color printing is enabled.

Document Format: Ensure that the document itself is set to print in color. Sometimes, specific formatting or settings in the document can affect printing options.

Update software: Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware.

Software Compatibility: There may be compatibility issues between LibreOffice and MS Word files. If you're opening a Word document in LibreOffice, try saving it as a native LibreOffice format (ODT) and see if that resolves the issue.

Print Preview: Use the print preview feature to check how the document will look when printed. This might give you clues if something is set incorrectly.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day
