Hello,

I own an HP LaserJet M227FDN printer.

It is setup working fine nd online with HP

It receives Firmware updates over my home network.

 

I want to know if I put a 3rd party toner cartridge in it will that void my warranty ?

I have a 3rd party toner cartridge that I tried to use once and a message appeared reading that the printer recognized to cartridge  as being from a 3rd party and not from HP.

So i took it out and put the Original HP cartridge back in.

 

Will stop my printer from receiving updates from HP ?

Latest updates prevent the printer from using 3rd party toner cartridges. 3rd party toner cartridges should not affect a device's warranty unless it is the cause of failure.

 

So if the toner leaks inside and you have a printer full of toner dust, then you will have no warranty, but if the scanner is not working and it failed that failure has nothing to do with toner cartridges and should be covered by warranty.
