Great to have finally found this thread!!! This should be sent out to all HP69679a1/46xx owners registered in the HP database.
I've been struggling attempting to reconnect my HP69679a1/4630 printer to my HPEnvy Laptop after a Windows update seemed to disable it. I've attempted numerous Windows updates, de-installed/re-installed the HP4630 drivers to no avail. I even upgraded, after numerous attempts to Windows 10 Creators Update, 1709 and still no success.
While I have no problems altering the Registry/HKeys, the Jet Advantage EPrint software made it so much easier and straight forward to FIX this issue.
Thank you Angie823!!!! You are a STAR!!!

I am happy you were able to solve this issue with my suggestion of using HP Jet Advantage. Recently, my Envy HP 4520 was not reponding when I used the Jet Advantage. I actually got a Microsoft tech who knew about the issue of the HP printers when using Windows 10. Since my original post, Microsoft has resolved the issue. He told me that downloading the drivers on the Microsoft website for some of the printers are WRONG !
Here is a way you can use the printer with the correct drivers and not print by way of Jet Advantage:
1. remove your printer from the list of printers in "Printers & Devices." (optional)
2. press the wireless icon on your printer & write down the IP address showing on the printer screen
3. on your computer, click on "Add new printer" in "Printer & Devices."
4. then click on "printer not listed"
5. when given the option of "IP address," use the IP address that you wrote down in Step #2.
6. your printer will now be connected directly to your computer with the correct drivers
I kept the Jet Advantage program, since it works fine when I visit my daughter and print using her wireless printer. It eliminates having to download drivers for her printer on my computer.

Hi Angie,
I did a system reset on my Windows 10 Home Edition laptop to try this. It worked, but Windows did prompt me to insert my HP install CD that came with the printer. After inserting nothing happened so I went through with the setup just to get the remaining software. The Windows printer driver seems to work fine so far without having to change group policy. Thanks for your input to this post.
