Hi there,
I have read a few posts on this already so please let me tell you what I've done so far:
I've checked that the printer is picking up the gateway IP address for my new router - tick
I've checked the printer is re-configured to the new router (both SSID and network key.) - tick
I've done a clean re-install of my HP printer drivers for Windows 10 - tick
I've checked that the Printer is connected to the wireless network - tick
I've followed the basic 'Add Printer' instructions in Windows 10 and then tried to add manually when not showing - tick
I've added the HP smart app to see if it makes a difference in finding the printer (was unsuccessful) - tick
I've run HP scan doctor which has prompted me to reinstall the printer drivers (as stated above) - tick
I've checked that my printer is not running a static IP address (following a recent router change.)
Is a wired setup my only option?
Any new ideas would be welcome Thanks.
Roger

Please try the classic way: download and install the following software
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL47583/ij-115163-4/OJ276_DW_188.exe
Regards.

Thank you Banhien,
i have actually already tried this (reinstalling my printer driver) and without success - I even did a clean install by clearing my laptop of any other previous drivers. Just to be sure, I ran your link again. It does not find the IP address of my wireless printer even though I have copied exactly from the printer display screen into the provided field given during setup.
Just one question:
The IP address of the wireless printer is different to that of the gateway default IP address for the router (the network IP address.) What am I missing?
Many thanks
Roger

Hi,
I don't think you can ping it. Computer and printer must be on a same network, using same gateway. For example my laptop has IP addesss as shown
and my HP Laser printer has same Default gateway (192.168.0.1), which is the router, as shown
Now I know printer IP address (I actually gave it a static IP), it on the same gateway with my computer, I can ping it
Sorry for a lengthy story. Now, please setup your printer again to connect using the following instructions
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c02886889
After that, ping it from your computer, if NO you can install software and drivers to your computer.
Regards.

Hi Banhien,
Many thanks for the time and effort and clarity in your response.
I think that a clear issue is starting to appear.
The gateway IP address on both the printer and the computer is exactly the same as that of the router.
The printer IP and computer IP (IPv4) addresses are different to the gateway IP. This is the case for yourself aswell, looking at your screenshots.
When I do a test ping (like you have), I find that when I enter the printer IP address, it pings back with the computer IP address stating that it could not connect/find the printer.
Why can't my computer find the printer IP address? (I have checked and double-checked that I am entering the correct printer IP when I do the ping. I even did a network configuration print out from the printer to confirm all of the IP details that I am entering for printer are correct.
Thank you once again for your attention to detail in this matter.
Best regards
Roger

Hi Banhien,
I couldn't see your previous response?
I'm thinking that I will have to purchase a new printer because it will be cheaper than having a private IT tech support company have a look at it.
Once again, thank you for your help in this matter.
Roger
