Hello,

I am having an issue with drivers on our Windows 11 machines. I have 5 computers that connect to the same printer and only one will print. All the other machines say can not find driver. I have uninstalled all the apps and printers several times and deleted all the exisitng drivers on the machines. I have also run the HP smart and it can not load the correct driver. Forces me to install it manually and still fails. Any ideas?

It sounds like you are experiencing difficulties with installing and recognizing the correct printer drivers for your HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 on multiple Windows 11 systems. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Update Windows 11:

  • Make sure that your Windows 11 systems are up to date. A recent update might address compatibility issues with printer drivers.

Download the Latest Driver:

  • Visit the HP support website and search for the latest drivers specifically for the HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 model. Ensure you select the driver version compatible with Windows 11.

Run HP Smart:

Manual Driver Installation:

  • Try manually downloading the driver package from the HP support site. After downloading, execute the installation file and follow the prompts to install it.

Check Connection Settings:

  • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to the network if it's a network printer. Verify that other machines are on the same network and can communicate with the printer.

Ensure Correct Port Configuration:

  • Go into the printer properties and check that the correct port is being used. Sometimes the wrong port configuration can prevent the printer from functioning.

Remove Previously Installed Drivers:

  • Double-check for any existing drivers that might be causing conflicts. Go to "Devices and Printers," right-click on the printer, and select "Remove Device." After removing, go to "Print Server Properties" under the menu, and delete any entries related to your printer if present.
