HP Photosmart C4795 All-in-One Printer

I'm going a bit mad here. These instructions:

Hpc4795 wireless setup

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already turned on.
  2. On the printer control panel, touch the Wireless icon. The Wireless Summary screen appears.
  3. Touch Settings, and then touch Wireless Setup Wizard.
  4. Follow the instructions on the control panel to connect the printer to your wireless network.

I don't see the Wireless icon on the display. What am I missing? All I see is scan photo and copy as options on the display.

         Hello gareneau?

You only had 2 names of your printer, because you did not check everything in the registry, as in the attached photo :

Il fallait tout côcher dans la base de registre.jpg

You had to tick:

Keys, Values, Data, and Whole Word .

That's why it malfunctioned. It took 45 minutes to delete them all.

The main thing is that everything is working now.

Thank you for the encouragements.

                                    Excellent Day.

@gareneau where did you get those instructions? The C4795 doesn't have a wireless wizard.  According to the user manual, you need to press the scan button on the Home screen to access the wireless menu.

Valsimot, I wasn't sure about the printer having a wireless wizard so thought I'd ask. Thank you for confirming it does not. I have pressed the can button and accessed the wireless menu. Nowhere in that menu does it provide a means to reach Setup so I might try to attach the printer to my network wirelessly. I can turn on/off the wireless radio, I can print the Network configuation page, I can access WPS, and a few other choices but nothing to do with wireless setup. I have run HP Print and Scan Doctor and gotten to the point where it asks whether I have a printer not connected to the network. When I answer it asks me to connect a USB cable which I've now done four times and each time the blue circle starts spinning and I finally getting an error message saying the program has stopped responding. Arrgghhh.....

On top of this when I go into Windows Settings / Printers and Scanners, it shows not only my C4700 printer as being offline but has added another printer called HP Smart printing. What is that?

Bernard42, I have no idea what your response means. The C4795 does not have a wireless button nor a way to setup the printer using the display on the printer. This has been a real trial trying to get the printer back in operation. And the original software is no longer offered on the HP site. All it says is use Windows to set the printer up - I didn't find that useful. I'm being forced to go look on the internet for the installation software from years ago.

Oui, c’est exactement celui que j’ai essayé et qui ne se termine jamais. Je suis sur Windows 10 64 bits et la page dit que c’est compatible mais pas de joie.
