HP Office Jet Pro 9018
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I just purchased and set up my HP Office Jet Pro 9018.  I've never had wireless before, so I, of course, installed it via wireless per instructions (which also led me to sign up for the Instant Ink program as there was 8 months free that came with the purchase).  The printer has a USB port (for installing cable-WiFi-printer).  After the initial setup, I printed a few things (tests, etc.).  It took an inordinate amount of time for it to go into the print preview mode, and again for it to initially print (almost 2 1/2 minutes). My previous printer wasn't wireless and I did not have to wait this disproportionate amount of time to print.  Can this printer be rerouted to use the USB connection rather than the wireless and if so, what steps need to be taken to do so.  If it can be used with the USB method, how will HP keep track of my ink usage?  Can they both be used at the same time with an optio

To monitor ink lever for instant ink plan the printer must be connected to the internet, if you have connect the printer to your wireless router with access to the internet that will be OK.You can install your printer on the USB no problem, the printer will work.

Your problems sound like they are probably somewhere on your computer/driver nothing to do with wireless/USB connections. It's very likely the printer will act the same if you connect it to USB.
