Hi @allan4127

Thanks for replying. Try installing the built-in driver - HP Printers - Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver

Let me know.

I believe the HP driver is loaded but in the control panel, when I right click on the HP8210 and look at properties/hardware/properties/driver I see "no driver files are required or have been loaded for this device".  When I right click on printer properties/advanced/driver I see that the driver is HP officejet pro 8210 PLC-6.  I tried to print thru MS word and nothing showed up in the print queue for the printer.

@allan4127

Have you tried the built-in drivers yet?

If you haven't, please try that and let me know.

I'm having the same issue with my Officejet Pro 8210 printer. It is unable to print when configured as a network printer, ethernet and wireless. It is able to print the test pages and network configuration page without issue from the printer panel. But, when you try to print an email, PDF, webpage, Word document, etc., the configuration error 0x80070709 is received. This particular error has been noted at the Microsoft support forum - it appears to be linked to security updates KB4524147, KB4517211, and KB4522016. Those that have uninstalled these updates have been able to regain full function of their 8210 printer. I am able to use my printer with the USB connection - HP Officejet Pro 8210 UPD PCL 6.

I'm using Windows 10 1903.

Evidently the problem lies with the windows update. I have to decide if I want to roll back the update or go to a usb wired solution.   Since I have other print options I will wait some to see if other solutions arise. I appreciate the help and advice

Allan and Doc W are on the right track but that's not a very convenient solution.  I'm still hoping for a better work-around.  Please post if you find an untethered approach.

Solution given is not useful.  I have exactly the same problem, but the suggested solution makes no sense and cannot be applied.

I agree we don't have a wireless workable solution.  I am hopeful that Microsoft will fix the problem or HP will come up with a solution.  If anyone has other thoughts I would appreciate their comments.

When MS issued their new cumulative update, 4517389, on Patch Tuesday, it solved my wireless printer issues. Prior to installing the new update, I uninstalled my 8210 printer then reinstalled it using the set-up disk that came with the printer, selecting the USB connection. You probably could do the same by downloading the full-feature software if you don't have the set-up disk. Then, I installed the update. After the restart, I entered HP OfficeJet Pro 8210 in Windows search. It'll bring up the "Device Set-Up and Software" box. Select wireless set-up, which changes the connection from UBS to wireless, and follow the instructions.

Whether this works for you or not will depend upon your network configuration and size. It worked for me. I printed out a document, webpage, an email in addition to the test pages to make sure everything was operating correctly. It  has for me. Installing the new MS update has worked for many others and myself that are using their 8210 as a network printer (ethernet and wireless).

I tried your suggestion.  First I removed and installed the printer and reset the printer to  and a usb connection.   I tested to insure I could print thru USB.  I uninstalled kb4517389 which had installed the other day.  I reinstalled KB4517389.  I restarted the laptop and used the HP Officejet 8210 device set up to change from USB to wireless.  I cannot get the laptop to connect wirelessly to the printer.  I am open to any other suggestions.
