Hi @ALFIES,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you’re having trouble with your HP ENVY Inspire 7200e. It sounds really frustrating. Let’s try a few things to resolve the issue:
Check Paper Settings in the HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.
- Go to the printer settings or preferences.
- Ensure that both the photo tray and the main paper tray are correctly set up. You might need to reconfigure the settings to recognize both trays.
Update Firmware and Software: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check this in the HP Smart app or on the printer’s control panel.
- Also, update the HP Smart app to the latest version.
Verify Paper Tray Installation:
- Make sure both trays are properly installed and seated in the printer.
- Check for any obstructions or misalignment in the trays.
Reset the Printer:
- Sometimes a full reset can help. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait a minute, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
Reconfigure the Printer:
- If uninstalling and reinstalling didn’t help, try setting up the printer from scratch again. Follow the setup instructions in the HP Smart app carefully to add the printer and configure the trays.
Check for Paper Size and Type Settings:
- Ensure the correct paper size and type are selected for each tray in the printer settings. Sometimes, incorrect settings can prevent the printer from recognizing the paper.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
