Product: HP DeskJet 2742e All-in-One Printer

Can someone please help me, I bought the HP Deskjet 2742e for scanning purposes using the document feeder. I have installed, printer is working great however it's not allowing me to scan using the document feeder.  I keep downloading the full driver but still unable to use the document feeder.  Can someone please tell me if I read this printer incorrectly and it will only scan using the glass?  Thank you.
