@lwardhana, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I understand you're having trouble installing HP Easy Start for your HP Ink Tank 315 on macOS Sequoia 15.1. Here's how you can resolve this issue:

Check Compatibility

  • The HP Ink Tank 315 is a USB-only printer, and macOS Sequoia 15.1 may not automatically support older driver packages.
  • HP Easy Start may not yet be fully optimized for macOS Sequoia 15.1, especially for USB-only models.

Use HP Easy Start (Latest Version)

  • Download the latest version of HP Easy Start.

Install Using HP Easy Start

  • After downloading:
    1. Open the .dmg file and run HP Easy Start.
    2. Connect your printer via USB when prompted.
    3. If the app fails to detect the printer, disconnect and reconnect the USB cable and try a different USB port.

If HP Easy Start Fails to Install the Driver

  • Use the Apple AirPrint driver as a fallback:
    1. Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
    2. Click Add Printer (+).
    3. Select your HP Ink Tank 315 from the list.
    4. Under “Use,” choose AirPrint or Generic PCL Printer.
    5. Click Add.

Reset Printing System (if needed)

If the printer still doesn’t install:

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list and choose Reset printing system.
  • Reboot your Mac and try the installation again.

Additional Troubleshooting Tips

  • Ensure your macOS is fully updated (Apple menu > System Settings > Software Update).
  • Disconnect any other USB devices that might interfere.
  • Avoid using USB hubs, connect the printer directly to the Mac.
