Welcome to the HP English Community --
"Scan to Computer" works as it has in the past on this and many other models --
If not done,
Install the full driver printer software
NOTE
Your computer must be connected to the Internet to install the full driver printer software.
Driver Page --
HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software (Internet connection required for driver installation)
After the software is installed,
Restart the computer and log in.
Next
Open the Printer Assistant shortcut on the Desktop
Select Tab Scan
Enable the "Manage Scan to Computer" feature

Details / Examples
The installation of the full driver generally adds at least one or more shortcuts to the Desktop.
Note: Printer Assistant, HP Scan Assistant, and HP Scan are dependent on printer model and supported software options.
- Printer Assistant – Where still supported as part of the full driver printer software
- HP Scan – Shortcut on Desktop named for the printer model
OR
- HP Scan Assistant – For those printers that no longer provide the Printer Assistant
- HP Scan - Shortcut named for itself
AND / OR
- When installed, HP Universal Scan software adds a separate self-named “HP Scan” shortcut
- NOTE >> If you install the full driver printer software, installing HP Universal Scan as a standalone software from category Software & Drivers is not necessary. The system will allow you to install both.
Printer Assistant shortcut > Tab Scan > Manage Scan to Computer > Enable
Or
HP Scan Assistant shortcut > Manage Scan to Computer > Enable

follow the steps below to resolve the problem:
Step 1: Check for Network Connection Issues
- Poor network connection: Ensure that the printer and computer are both connected to the same network. Move them closer to the wireless router if necessary.
- Printer status: Ensure that the printer is turned on and not in sleep mode.
Step 2: Reconnect Printer to the Network
- Printers with a touchscreen control panel: Open the Setup, Network, or Wireless settings menu, select Wireless Setup Wizard, and follow the instructions to connect to the network.
- Printers without a touchscreen control panel: Press and hold the Wireless button for five seconds or until the wireless light starts flashing. Then, press and hold the WPS button on the router until the connection process begins.
Step 3: Check Software and Driver Installation
- Install full feature software: If you haven't installed it already, download HP Easy Start from HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software (Internet connection required for driver installation) and install the full feature software and drivers.
Step 4: Enable the Scan to Computer Function
- Open HP Printer Assistant: For Windows, search for your printer model to open the HP Printer Assistant.
- Enable Scan to Computer: Navigate to the Scan tab and make sure that the option to scan to the computer is turned on.
Step 5: Check for Reserved Scanner Error
If the scanner is busy or reserved by another process:
- Wait for the current scan to finish or cancel it.
- Restart both printer and computer to clear possible error conditions.
For more detailed information and specific solutions, you can visit the HP support page or check your printer’s manual.
I hope this helps.
Kind Regards
