My wife has just changed her printer from a HP injet to a Hp Laserjet.
She is used to using HP smart to scan documents, but I am unable to set it up with the new printer.
Using HP Smart, I was able to delete the old printer, but am unable to use the new printer properly, as HP Smart is telling me the new printer is 'Offline', and won't connect.
The printer is definitely 'Online' as it prints happily from her laptop.
Because it can't be seen from HP Smart, she is also unable to use the printer with the HP Smart app on her iPhone.
Any suggestions as to the cause?

Likely a security or admin setting that needs to be changed. You need to go into the embedded web server of the printer and then go to security>administrator settings and make sure that "scan from PC or Mobile device" is check marked, typically the default is turned off.

I managed to get round this, by connecting my iPad wifi connection directly to the printer IP address 192.168.223.1). Although I lost internet, I was able to talk direct to the printer web server.
Once connected to the printer, and after a bit of faffing around, I was able to see that Wifi was not enabled!
How this could be, yet still allow printing from Laptop beats me, but once I enabled Wifi on printer, and switching Ipad wifi back to its normal conection, I was able to print from both iPad and iPhone.
Notwithstanding my workaround to get Printer Wifi enabled, I still can’t see printer web service using my normal Wifi Connection! HoHum.
PS HpSmart can now see printer too!
