I have tried everything I can think of to make this ideapad 3 with Windows 11 recognize the HP printer I have with no success. I have the HP app installed I can see the printer there, but when I go to the settings on the ideapad it will not find my printer.

Hi @Kbyers74,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing difficulty connecting your HP ENVY Pro 6455 All-In-One Printer to your laptop running Windows 11, there are several steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue.
- Ensure compatibility: Confirm that the HP ENVY Pro 6455 printer is compatible with Windows 11. Visit the HP website and verify if there are any specific drivers or software updates available for Windows 11 compatibility.
- Update drivers: Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your laptop. Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause connectivity problems. Visit the HP website, search for the specific model of your printer, and download the latest drivers for Windows 11. Install the drivers and follow any on-screen instructions.
- Restart devices: Restart both your printer and your laptop. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
- Check USB cable: If you're using a USB connection, ensure that the cable is securely plugged into both the printer and the laptop. Try using a different USB cable or port to rule out any cable-related problems.
- Wireless connection troubleshooting: If you're trying to connect wirelessly, ensure that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop. Check the printer's network settings and verify the network name and password. Restart your printer and laptop, and attempt the wireless connection again.
- Firewall and antivirus settings: Temporarily disable your firewall and antivirus software to see if they are blocking the printer's connection. If the printer connects successfully with the security software disabled, adjust the settings to allow the printer's connection.
- HP Print and Scan Doctor: Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor utility. This tool can diagnose and resolve common printing problems automatically. It can help identify any underlying issues with the printer or the connection.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
