If your HP Photosmart 7520 printer does not recognize your new computer for scanning, try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Check the Connection
- Ensure the Printer is Connected Properly:
- Make sure your printer is connected to your network. If it's connected via USB, ensure the cable is securely plugged into both the printer and the computer.
- Confirm that your computer is on the same network as the printer.
Software Installation
- Install Printer Software:
- Ensure you have installed the latest printer software on your new computer. You can download the software from the HP support website: HP Support.
Verify Scanner Setup
- Check Scanner Configuration:
- Open the HP software installed on your computer and ensure the scanner setup is configured correctly. For Windows:
- Go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Photosmart 7520 series > HP Scan.
- For Mac:
- Use the HP Easy Scan application from your Applications folder.
- Open the HP software installed on your computer and ensure the scanner setup is configured correctly. For Windows:
Restart Devices
- Restart the Printer and Computer:
- Turn off the printer and the computer. Wait for a minute before turning them back on. This can often resolve connectivity issues.
