@atkajk, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Wireless Printer Connection Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP wireless printer is not reconnecting to the network after being unplugged, here are several steps you can follow to resolve the issue:

Restart the Printer and Network Devices:

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect any USB or Ethernet cables from it.
  • Turn off the Wi-Fi router, wait for 15 seconds, and then restart it.
  • Restart your computer or any device you are trying to print from.
  • Turn on the printer and wait for it to fully initialize.

Check the Wireless Settings on the Printer:

  • For printers with a touchscreen, navigate to the Wireless settings menu and use the "Wireless Setup Wizard." This allows you to select your network and enter the password to reconnect.
  • For printers without a touchscreen, initiate 'Wi-Fi Setup Mode' using the specific button combination for your printer model.

Using HP Smart App for Connection:

  • Download or open the HP Smart app on your computer, tablet, or phone.
  • Ensure that the printer is in 'Wi-Fi Setup Mode' so it's discoverable.
  • In the HP Smart app, select "Add Printer" and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to the network.

Check Network Compatibility:

  • Ensure the Wi-Fi band is set to 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz depending on what your printer supports.
  • Move the printer closer to the router to ensure a strong signal.

Confirm Printer's Wireless Connection:

  • Check if the wireless light or icon on the printer is solid and blue, indicating a successful network connection.
  • If the light is off or flashing, the printer is not connected to the network.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
