If you're unable to install your HP DeskJet 4255e All-in-One Printer on Windows 11, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and fix the issue:

 

Check Compatibility

  1. Ensure that your printer model is compatible with Windows 11.
  2. The HP DeskJet 4255e should be compatible, but you can confirm this on HP's official support website.

 

Use HP Smart App

  1. Download and install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
  2. Open HP Smart and sign in with your HP account (or create one).
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to add your printer.

 

Download Drivers Manually

If HP Smart doesn’t work, try installing drivers manually:

  1. Go to the HP Support Page.
  2. Search for "HP DeskJet 4255e".
  3. Download the latest drivers and software for Windows 11.
  4. Install the downloaded file and follow the on-screen setup instructions.

 

Check Printer Connection

  • USB Connection:
    • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected.
    • Try a different USB port.
  • Wi-Fi Connection:
    • Ensure the printer and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
    • Restart the printer and router if needed.

 

Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor

  1. Download HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP support site.
  2. Open it and follow the steps to diagnose and fix installation issues.

 

Add Printer Manually (If Needed)

  1. Open SettingsBluetooth & DevicesPrinters & Scanners.
  2. Click Add Device and select your printer.
  3. If it’s not listed, choose Add manuallyUse a TCP/IP address or hostname → Enter the printer’s IP address (found on the printer display or settings).

 

Restart and Test

  • Restart your computer and printer after installation.
  • Try printing a test page from SettingsPrinters & Scanners → Select your printer → Print a test page.
