HP DeskJet 2710 All-in-One Printer

Hello.
I've installed HP Smart on my phone and desktop computer, but printing is only possible using the phone.
When I try printing a PDF document form the computer, the printer "blinks" for a second but won't respond any further.
Don't have a clue. Would be grateful for any advice.

Hi @adirav,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be a connection or driver issue between your HP DeskJet 2710 and your Mac running macOS Ventura. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Check Printer Connection:

  • Ensure the printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network. You can do this through the printer’s control panel or by printing a network configuration page.

Update macOS and HP Software:

  • Make sure your macOS is up to date by going to System Preferences > Software Update.
  • Update the HP Smart app and any HP drivers by visiting the HP Support website.

Reinstall HP Printer Drivers:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Remove the HP DeskJet 2710 by selecting it and clicking the - button.
  • Visit the HP Support page for DeskJet 2710 to download and install the latest drivers for macOS Ventura.

Reset Printing System:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click (or Control-click) in the list of printers and select Reset printing system….
  • Confirm the reset and then add your printer again.

Check Printer Queue:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your HP DeskJet 2710 and click Open Print Queue.
  • Check if there are any stuck print jobs and clear them.

Use AirPrint:

  • Ensure that AirPrint is enabled on your printer. This is usually the default setting, but it's worth checking. AirPrint should work seamlessly with macOS.

Test with Another Application:

  • Try printing from a different application or document to see if the issue is specific to PDF files or a particular app.

Network Troubleshooting:

  • If your printer is connected to Wi-Fi, ensure that your Mac is also on the same network. Sometimes, network settings or firewalls can affect connectivity.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
