I bought this printer because of portability AND because of the software allowing faxing through an internet connection. That feature worked great for awhile. And the, suddenly, the faxing feature just disappeared. I've been relentlessly trying to reinstall the HP Smart program - WITH NO SUCCESS. I've been through the virtual agent to the point of enough frustration to take the **bleep** printer back. I have lost countless hours of productivity. At my age 70+ I don't have a lot of hours/days to waste on software errors.
I need help from somebody that know how to install HP Smart (with the FAX feature) without having to go through Microsoft Store - 'cause that dog ain't huntin!

If the issue persists, let's download and install the software from here:

I have an HP laptop where it still works. But, my main desktop is a gaming computer that I use for business purposes only, with 4 monitors, 32gb ram, and 20 tb disc storage, with 1 tb SSD drive dedicated to windows (drive c). The program was working for last year and then, all of a sudden, HP smart quit working. I really don't want to have regen the operating system.

I'm afraid since HP smart works with another Computer, it's not the App issue.
May be you can create a local account and then try installing the App: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-a-local-user-or-administrator-account-in-windows-...
