hp 4630 ail in one printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have had trouble with my hp4630 printer off and on for the last 6 months or more. I tried to print a document and got a message the printer was in error. No error number just a note saying printer was in error. I've tried using scan dr to remove and reinstall printer, and I either can't get the reinstall to complete or if it does complete installiation. I've tried uninstalling the printer thru control panel, that doesn't work. It shows a printer is installed but when I try to print I'm back to the error message. I have gone to hp website, downloaded the complete installiation for the 4630 printer and still get the same results. If the installiation is completed then I wind up going back to the error message. But the last couple of tries the installiation does not complete. I'm at a lost as to what to do. I'm about ready to drop kick this printer out the door and try a different brand. I would rather not but this is ridiculous. Any help or any ideas would be appreciated.

Welcome to HP support community.

Are you able to make a copy?

How is the printer connected, USB or Wireless?

Did you uninstall the printer driver from root level?

If not, follow the below steps:

Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.
  • Restart the PC again.

Download and install printer full feature driver

Click here to download the driver.

Let me know how it goes.

I can copy with the printer. I am trying to set it up again as a wifi printer. I followed you instructions about uninstalling from the root level. Almost made a mistake there. The line where you tell me to printui.exe /s and click OK, I almost goofed on that line. I didn't pick up on the   /s part for a few minutes. Anyway I got passed that followed instructions, went thru the setup and it still would not print. Everything I saw said the printer installation was complete but nope.

So I went thru the repair list again. Still didn't work. So I'm still scratching my head on this.

Are you getting any error message? Can you send us a picture of the error screen?

I went thru this setup twice. First time everything took, looked like drivers were loaded but still couldn't print so I tried it again. When I went to delete the driver files I got a message saying HPVYT12.INF. could not be deleted. I did a search on my c drive for any files like this and this is what I found. Can I delete these files and see if that helps. Screenshot (4).png
