Hi @796dan

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for the clear context—if your HP printer works from your phone but not from your Windows 11 HP laptop, the issue is likely tied to driver installation, printer discovery, or default settings on the laptop.

Let’s walk through a focused recovery path to restore printing.

Step-by-Step Fix for Laptop Printing Issues

1. Run HP’s Diagnose & Fix Tool

This is HP’s latest troubleshooting utility:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your laptop.
  • Click your printer → go to Printer Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
  • Let it run a full scan—it will automatically fix connection, driver, and queue issues.

2. Check Printer Connection

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Make sure your printer is listed and shows as Ready or Online.
  • If not listed, click Add Device and wait for it to appear.

3. Set as Default Printer

  • In Printers & Scanners, select your printer.
  • Click Set as default to ensure print jobs go to the correct device.

4. Clear the Print Queue

  • Select your printer → click Open Print Queue.
  • Cancel all pending jobs.
  • Restart both your printer and laptop.

5. Install Full HP Software Package

  • Visit your printer’s support page on HP’s official site.
  • Download and install the Full Software Solution for your model.
  • This ensures proper driver installation and full feature access.

6. Try Printing from a Different App

  • Open a document in Notepad, WordPad, or HP Smart.
  • Try printing from there—this helps isolate app-specific issues.

Let me know your printer model and what happens after these steps—I’ll guide you further based on that. You're close to getting this resolved.
