@leng18, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Make Sure Printer Is Fully Powered On

Check if the printer is displaying a menu or lights.

If it’s showing a blank screen or flashing light, unplug it from power, wait 1 minute, and plug it back in.

Open the Access Door Fully

On HP printers, the carriage won’t move unless the cartridge access door is completely open.

Gently Nudge the Carriage

If the printer is powered on and idle:

Open the access door.

Look inside for the carriage. Is it at the far right?

Try gently nudging it toward the center — do not force it if it resists.

If it moves freely, you may be able to reinstall the cartridges.

Check for Paper or Debris Jams

Turn off the printer and unplug it.

Use a flashlight to look for:

Torn paper pieces

Packaging tape

Broken plastic parts

Carefully remove any debris.

Hard Reset the Printer

Unplug the printer while it’s turned on.

Disconnect USB cables (if any).

Wait 60 seconds.

Plug it directly into a wall outlet (not a surge protector).

Turn it on.

Check if the carriage moves now when opening the door.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
