I have 2 old HP Envy 764 Printers I want to recycle but don't know how to make sure the memory is clear. They are no longer connected to my HP Smart app.

Hi @kjstigger07029,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you want to clear the memory on your HP Envy 7640 printer as you are not using the printer anymore.

Please try the steps shared below and let me know if this helps.

Power Cycle:

  • Turn off the HP Envy 7640 using the power button.
  • Unplug the printer from the power source.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds to ensure the memory is cleared.
  • Plug the printer back into the power source and turn it back on.

Clear Print Queue (If Necessary):

If the issue persists, you might have stuck or pending print jobs in the print queue. To clear the print queue:

  • On Windows: Open the Control Panel, go to Devices and Printers, right-click on your printer, and select "What's printing" or "See what's printing".
  • Click "Print" and then "Printer".
  • Click "Print" and then "Clear".

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
