I have spent 2 days attempting to get this printer set up on a Zeiss topographer. When attempting to install the driver I keep getting the error of "installation error" a file that is required cannot be installed because the cabinet file (don't have the location handy) has an invalid digital signature. This may indicated the cabinet file is corrupt. The digital signature for your software could not be verified. To fix please connect to the internet or run windows update and restarted the device install".
The issue with this system I'm attempting to install the driver on has internet access but no browsing, as well I do not have any access to the administrator account on the OS. The printer is compatible with windows XP SP3 32-bit which is the operating system I have on the machine I have confirmed this. I have tried using both drivers downloaded to USB and installing that way. but the installation continues to fail. I am not sure what i can do rectify the problem.

Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are facing printing issues with setting up your HP Color LaserJet Pro M255dw.
Please follow the steps listed below to uninstall and reinstall the drivers.
Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab.
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
15.) Restart the computer.

According to the specs listed for this printer, HP does not support Windows XP
Your best option if you can connect via network is to manually install the printer on network and use an older UPD driver that is compatible with XP.
