@ALC17, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Color Printing Issues on HP DeskJet 4258e!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP DeskJet 4258e printer is not printing in color, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check Print Settings:

  • Ensure that your print settings are configured to print in color. Go to the print dialog box in your software application and check if the color option is selected instead of grayscale or black & white.

Verify Ink Levels:

  • Verify the ink levels in your color cartridges. If the ink levels are low or the cartridges are empty, replace them with new ones.

Check the Cartridge Installation:

  • Make sure that the color ink cartridge is properly installed in its slot. Remove and reinstall the cartridge to ensure proper contact.

Clean the Print Heads:

  • Use the printer’s utility software to perform a cleaning of the print heads. This can resolve issues caused by clogged nozzles.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that your printer drivers are updated to the latest version. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.

Perform a Test Print:

  • Perform a test print to see if color printing issues persist. This can often provide diagnostic information that may be useful.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
