Hi @randystensaas

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand you are able to print a test page but not documents from your new HP laptop. Let’s go step by step to align the printer and laptop correctly.

Confirm HP App Installation

  • On your laptop, open the Microsoft Store and ensure the HP App is installed and updated.
  • Launch the HP App and check if your printer is listed with a green check mark.

Run Diagnose & Fix

  • In the HP App, select your printer.
  • Go to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
  • Allow the tool to complete and apply any corrections.

Check Windows Printer Settings

  • Open Windows Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Ensure your HP printer is set as the default printer.
  • If multiple entries exist for the same printer, remove duplicates and keep only the one added through the HP App.

Driver Verification

Test Printing from Applications

  • Open a document in Word or PDF in Acrobat.
  • Select File > Print and choose your HP printer.
  • Confirm if the print completes successfully.

These steps ensure the printer is properly integrated with your new laptop.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
