I tried the way the expert on here said and when I clicked the wireless link he provided it says connect a USB cable. iv tried other methods as well and nothing works. my cd rom is currently broken so that's not an option either. really do not want to purchase a new printer for the little bit I print. @Geanine1972, Welcome to HP Support Community!

To be able to assist you better, I'd like to know the following-

  • Is your router dual-band enabled i.e., both 2.4GHz and 5GHz?
  • What is the distance between the router and the printer?
  • Is there any error message on the printer or the computer?

Meanwhile, refer to the document HP Printers - No Connection after Router or Wi-Fi Settings Change for help. Also, use the guided troubleshooter Troubleshooting | Wireless Printing Center for instruction to isolate and resolve the issue.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
