Product: HP DeskJet 2640 All-in-One Printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I realize I cannot connect to 5G network. I do not want to create 2.4G network. That leaves me with installing and printing with USB cable. I cannot download drivers. Win10 fails installation of both full and basic drivers.  HP SMART is worthless--it will not install drivers or help me with USB connection. USB cable is not defective. WIN10 add a printer failed as well--will not print. Is there any way to install and use printer?

Hello @henrychapman .
The printer does not have a wireless or Ethernet connection.

If it is the DeskJet 2640 without ink advantage it can connect to the wireless network.

 

As a suggestion you can create another user in Windows 10 with administrator rights and from there try to install the following driver for your printer:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL49524/mp-120066-5/Full_Webpack-118-DJ2640_Full_Webpack....

Thank you but your suggested solution did not work. My 2640 has a wireless connection that will not work.
