Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

All i want to do is use the printer in MS ofice via a usb and the problem seems to be unsurmountable.  The installed printer only wants to use the App and no option seems to exist.

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

I understand that you are in need of support, need not worry I'll be glad to assist you.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Can you please brief what happens when you try to print from the computer(do you see any error)?

Is the printer working fine with the other application?

Did you try with a different USB?

Try to print from a different application and let me know how it goes.

In the meantime, here is what we can do:

I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and retry, follow the steps below:

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Then, Click on this link: https://hp.care/2JB9X2F to download the driver and install it.

Use this link: https://hp.care/2Jyof44; for using the HP Smart App (Windows 10)

Do get back to me as I have a few more tricks up my sleeve,

As I will follow up to ensure your concern is resolved,

That said, If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon followed by clicking on 'Accepted as Solution

And Have a great day Ahead!

Cheers:)

I tried your solution and the windows system is not installing the printer as a readable device by windows or ms office it will also not print using the direct connection system by not connecting via the generated pin which the printer is printing , but then the system hangs.
