Hi @amedee1716,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-In-One Printer is not working with your new Windows 11 PC and you're encountering a Device Manager error, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Check for Compatibility: Ensure that your printer model is compatible with Windows 11. You can do this by visiting the HP website and checking for updated drivers and compatibility information.

Install Latest Drivers:

  • Go to the HP official website (https://support.hp.com) and navigate to the driver download section.
  • Enter your printer model (HP ENVY Photo 7855) and select your operating system as Windows 11.
  • Download the latest drivers for your printer and install them.

Update Windows 11:

  • Make sure your Windows 11 is up to date. Sometimes, Windows updates include driver updates and fixes.
  • Go to "Settings" > "Windows Update" and check for updates.

Restart Your Printer and PC:

  • Turn off your printer and PC.
  • Disconnect the printer from the PC.
  • Turn on the printer and wait for it to fully initialize.
  • Turn on your PC.
  • Reconnect the printer to the PC.

Check Device Manager:

  • Open Device Manager on your Windows 11 PC. You can do this by right-clicking the Start button and selecting "Device Manager."
  • Look for any error messages or warning icons related to your printer. If you find any, right-click on the problematic device and select "Update driver" or "Uninstall device" (if it's already installed).
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to update the driver or reinstall it.

HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP website. This tool can automatically diagnose and fix printing problems.

Check Connectivity:

  • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your PC, either through USB or network connection.
  • If using a network connection, make sure the printer is on the same network as your Windows 11 PC.

Firewall and Antivirus Software: Sometimes, security software can block printer communication. Temporarily disable your firewall and antivirus software to see if that resolves the issue.

Remember to back up any important documents or files before making significant changes to your system. Additionally, ensure that you have administrative privileges on your Windows 11 PC to make driver updates and system changes.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
