Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Deskjet 2622. It used to work just fine, then the last few months my printer has recently not been working from my laptop. its totally wireless. We bought it in 2020 brand new.

It still works from my phone, direct from photos and through the hp smart app.

I have tried uninstalling everything from the laptop and re-installing it but now it permanently says driver unavailable.

The printer is visible in the control panel devices section, and is installed by the looks of things, but will not talk to the laptop and can not be found through microsoft word or any other app.

How can i install/find drivers that actually work.

I really need it to work as am doing an apprentaship and planning my wedding, i need to be able to print pictures and word documents, as well as we have a son in school who sometimes could do with printing things out.

Thanks

Hello @kate_phoenix .
You need to completely delete the printer folder:
Press Windows key + R and type regedit.
In the registers click on File, Export and save to the desktop, this is in case you delete something important and that way you can recover it.

In the window, go to: HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG
-System
-CurrentControlSet
-Control
-Print
-Then delete the printer folder.

Delete the Hp printer folder from the following paths:
C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files\HP
C:\Program Files (x86)\HP or C:\Program Files (x86)\HP
C:\ProgramData\HP
Rename folder 3 to 3_old in the path below (a reboot may be necessary):
C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64.
C:\Windows System32pooldrivers\W32X86.
NOTE: If the folder rejects this action, do the following:

On the keyboard, press the Windows key + R. The Run window will open.
Type net stop spooler, and then press OK.
Rename the folder.
Type net start spooler and then press OK.
Finally reinstall the printer driver and the driver can be downloaded from:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/DJ2600/Full_Webpack-43.4.2486-DJ2600_Full_Webpack...

Optional driver:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/HPEasyStart/Pilot/HPEasyStart_13_6_5.exe

@GOLD_MASTER my partner did everything you said and it still didn't work, we have even been and bought a cable and it doesn't work when it is not plugged in. We have no idea what else to try. We uninstalled everything, plugged cable in, followed prompts and tried all sorts i don't even remember. I'm mostly replying to say thanks for trying to help but all has failed, so now when i want to print i'm just going to plug in, and to ask if you think that it could be down to either of these other 2 factors.

1) the printer was bought in 2020 and the laptop also bought in 2020 and its just a general windows 10 laptop, is the printer maybe too old to get drivers for wireless for windows 10 now? it still prints wirelessly from my phone by the way.

2) our internet is so **bleep** with upload and download speed that today we called sky to switch to them from shell. could the rubbish internet provider be impacting the intallation of drivers onto laptop for wireless printing, even though this last time i used the cable between printer and laptop?

I hope you see this, im not sure if ive done the tag correctly.

thank you,

kate
