HP deskjet 4155e printer is 3 years old and out of warranty. Tech support said it was an easy fix but will not help without subscribing to HP care package for $199 - $399 or a one time fee of $150.00. Same problem I have had with previous HP printers, ink is blurring and cleaning print heads does not help. Tech support stated Infection of network, print workflow stopped and drivers not working but will not fix. He also stated that this is an issue to be expected regularly without purchasing support package.

Hi @bluesky109,

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your HP DeskJet 4155e printer and that you're getting such frustrating responses from tech support. Let's try to resolve the issues you're facing with your printer without having to purchase additional support packages.

1. Resolve "Print Workflow Stopped" Issue
This issue typically indicates a problem with the print spooler service or communication between your computer and the printer. Here's how to address it:
Restart the Print Spooler Service:
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.Scroll down and find Print Spooler.Right-click on it and select Restart.
Clear Print Queue:
- Open Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.Select your printer and click Open queue.Cancel any pending print jobs.
Reinstall Printer Driver:

- Restart your computer.Reinstall the printer driver from HP’s official support website.
2. Fix Driver Issues

- Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).Expand Printers and right-click on your printer.
- Select Uninstall device.Restart your computer and reinstall the printer driver from HP’s support site.
3. Address Network Infection Issues
If you're experiencing network-related issues, it's worth checking for malware or other network problems:
- Run a full system scan using your antivirus software to ensure your computer is not infected with malware.
- Ensure that your printer and computer are on the same network.
- Check your router settings to ensure there are no security issues.
Reset Network Settings:
- On the printer’s control panel, navigate to network settings and choose to reset or reconnect to your Wi-Fi network.
4. Resolve Print Quality Issues
- Ensure that you’re using genuine HP ink cartridges and they are properly installed.
- Use the built-in print head cleaning function from the printer’s control panel or the HP printer software on your computer.
- Run the print head alignment process from the printer’s control panel or the HP software.
- Use high-quality, compatible paper for printing.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
