Product: Hp deskjet f4280
Operating System: macOS 11.0 Big Sur

Hello, I found out in my old house this printer (Hp Deskjet f4280 All-in-one. Trying to make it works but on my MacBook with macOS Big Sur it appears on my list with the green light but "not active". How can I install this printer on my Mac, if it's possible? Thank you in advance

I'd like to help!

 

HP Deskjet F4280 driver for macOS 11 is not available from the HP website or Apple Software Update. However, Gutenprint (formerly called Gimp-Print) provides open-source basic print drivers for many printers that would otherwise not be supported in Mac OS X. To see if your printer is supported, go to Gutenprint drivers for more information.

 

NOTE: Gutenprint drivers are not supported by HP or Apple.

 I’d recommend you contact HP Phone Support in your region for an upgrade options

 

Follow the instructions below to reach them:

 

1) Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp

2) Select your product type below.

3) Enter the serial of your device. 

4) Select the country from the drop-down. 

5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences. 

6)Fill the web-form and proceed further.

 

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
