Hi Shlomil,

the first command worked well with the german syntax.

But with the icacls command, my pc replied "invalid parameter: PC"

Any idea what to change as it seems not to a language issue.

Thanks in advance...

Hi @level1user , is this an HP Pc, or do you have any other HP product than the printer?

Please let me know this, so I can provide you the exact steps for your situation.

Generally, the y switch in the ICALCS command  should be replace with a j, to indicate Ja for the local language instead of Yes.

Hi,
no, it's an ASUS PC and no additional HP products in use.

For the "icacls" command no y is included, as well as I see no "PC" (2nd line).

That's why I'm confused with "invalid paramater:PC".

Thanks for clarifying.

I would guess any locale issue related to the username itself, please try replacing %username% with the username itself.

Browse to C:\Users and locate your user's folder, then copy its name and replace it with the %username%

For example. if you browse to C:\users and see the folder name as test. try using the following command:

takeown /f %windir%\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository /r /d j
icacls "%windir%\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository" /grant test:(OI)(CI)F /T
for /d %G in ("%windir%\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\hpwia*") do rd /s /q "%~G"
takeown /f %windir%\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository /A /r /d j

May you see any change with the results then?

Hi Shlomil,

thanks for your support and quick response.
After checking on which user the first "takeown" command worked I added the right user and anything works fine to uninstall current driver.

I reinstalled latest driver and hoped that the main issue no color prints, is solved, but this is not the case. Really boring as on test sides color is printed, but not from Word or Adobe.
Will open another call .

Thanks again

Hi @level1user

Try following below specific version of the HP Print and Scan Doctor Utility by selecting your printer:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/patches/HPPSdr.exe

Be sure to restart your PC and allow the utility to complete the process, then check for any difference.

Try printing and check for any change, if the same remains try printing using the newly added print queue copy (Copy1) and check for any difference.

After the Windows 10 automatic update that ran on my Dell 2 days ago, I can't print.

I've been trying to uninstall all software but keep getting this message that won't allow it even as an Admin.

"Call to Driver Package returned error 5 for package.  A caller of Driver Package Install must be a member of the Administrative group to install a driver package.

I'm not trying to INSTALL, but UN-INSTALL.

What is this telling me and how do I remove the HP software so I can re-install the latest as a part of my trouble-shooting?

Thank you Shlomi!

This "Spoiler" cmd is not found.  I have followed the other instructions to logon ad the net administrator and run it from that account, and that doesn't work either.  This is very frustrating; I cannot uninstall the hp software or install that latest version, which tries to uninstall it too.

It worked for me too!!!
