I could go to the printer and do a test print. When I test print I get a error. printer works fine on another phone. I have not yet tried setting it up through the wps pin. Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Could you please share the picture of the error message?

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor: Follow steps from the link: Click here

Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP OfficeJet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

To reinstall, click here.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I used "printui.exe /s" and tried deleting two drivers but they both said they are currently in use one was pcl the other was office jet pro 8710

i used a brand new computer and picked driver 17.60.0.5100 from 2017 and it printed fine. I tried on the computer im trying to resolve but i cant find it once i clicked update computer. Do you have a download link for driver version 17.60.0.5100 for officejet pro 8710?

Thank you for posting back.

This sounds like a driver issue,

  • Have you tried root level uninstallation printer drivers from the old computer?
  • Could you share please share the picture of the error message?

While reinstalling the printers, the computer will pick up and install all the latest drivers for you.
