I got a printer as a gift from a friend. I can not use it because of the error message. it says printer registered with other account. How do you cancel other account? my friend does not even remember if he open an account with HP.
I tried everything from removing all settings to factory reset on printer + remove HP app - reinstall it+ update all software and firmware on the printer, etc. Nothing works. So any assistance greatly appreciated.
HP Model office jet 8015e (purchased march 23)
product# 228f5a
Thanks.

Hi @burcin22043,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code UA_400_eb000U0004 indicates that the printer is registered with another HP account. Here are steps you can take to resolve this issue.
Ask Your Friend
Even though your friend doesn’t remember, they might have used an email address or account associated with HP. If possible, ask them to check their email for any registration or account-related messages from HP. This might help in locating the account or deactivating it.
Factory Reset
You mentioned you’ve already tried a factory reset, but make sure you follow these steps precisely:
- Turn on the printer.
- Go to the printer’s control panel.
- Navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults or similar.
Update Firmware and Software
Ensure that the printer’s firmware and the HP Smart app are up-to-date. Sometimes updates can resolve account-related issues.
Create a New HP Account
If HP support confirms that the printer can be deregistered from the old account, you should then be able to register it under your new HP account.
By following these steps and contacting HP support, you should be able to resolve the issue and start using your printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thanks for your response. Information you have provided is already available over the internet. Factory reset did not work. Unfortunately my friend couldn't find his registration with this printer. Is there anyway Hp support delete the registration about this printer from your data base so I can start using it. Thanks.
