Hi @generic24,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Experiencing difficulties installing the driver for your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125ra printer can be frustrating. Let's troubleshoot this.

Restart Your Computer:

  • Before proceeding, restart your computer. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary issues that may be causing the installation problem.

Run Installer as Administrator:

  • Right-click on the printer driver installer file and select "Run as administrator" from the context menu. Elevated privileges can sometimes help with installation issues.

Temporarily Disable Antivirus/Firewall:

  • Sometimes, security software can interfere with the installation process. Temporarily disable any antivirus or firewall software on your computer and try running the installer again.

Use HP Smart App (Optional):

  • Consider using the HP Smart app to set up your printer. You can download the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store and follow the on-screen instructions to connect and set up your printer.

Check Compatibility:

  • Ensure that the printer driver you're trying to install is compatible with Windows 11. Visit the HP support website and download the latest driver specifically designed for Windows 11.

Clean Boot:

  • Perform a clean boot on your computer to start Windows with minimal drivers and startup programs. This can help identify if a third-party application is causing conflicts with the printer driver installation. Instructions for performing a clean boot can be found on the Microsoft website.

Check System Requirements:

  • Ensure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements for the printer driver. Insufficient system resources or outdated components could cause installation failures.

Download Alternative Installer:

  • If the standard driver installer is not working, check if HP offers an alternative installation method, such as a basic driver package or a universal print driver.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the installation error and successfully install the driver for your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M125ra printer on Windows 11.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
