HP ENVY Photo 6220 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

My printer is properly connected to the Wifi. Scanning works absolutely fine. But when I try to print either a PDF-file or directly from Open Office Writer I get the following error:" Error: unexpected configuration problem 0x80070570.

I have followed your advice in an older thread with the same problem. But I can't find "Print Spooler" after hitting WIN+R and typing services.msc.

What can I do to solve this?

Hi @PeterF10,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I completely understand how frustrating this is, especially when scanning works perfectly but printing throws that 0x80070570 “unexpected configuration problem” error. This usually points to a corrupted print spooler service or driver conflict in Windows 11. Let’s fix this step by step:

Step 1: Restart Print Spooler Service

Even if you couldn’t find it earlier, here’s the correct way:

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
  2. Scroll down to Print Spooler
    • If you don’t see it, make sure you’re in Services (Local).
  3. Right-click Print SpoolerRestart.
  4. If it’s missing, your Windows installation may have a corrupted component (we’ll fix that in Step 4).

Step 2: Clear Print Queue

  1. Press Windows + R, type control printers, and hit Enter.
  2. Right-click your HP printer → See what’s printing → Cancel all jobs.

Step 3: Reinstall HP Printer Driver

  1. Uninstall your printer from Settings → Bluetooth & Devices → Printers & Scanners.
  2. Download the latest full driver package for HP ENVY Photo 6220: HP ENVY Photo 6220 All-in-One Printer | HP® Support

Step 4: Repair Windows Print Components

If Print Spooler is missing or corrupted:

  1. Open Command Prompt (Admin).
  2. Run: sfc /scannow

This repairs missing system files.

  1. Then run: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Step 5: Use HP App

Download HP’s official diagnostic tool: HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site
It will automatically detect spooler and driver issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
