Hi @nathhhhh,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS) Anyway

Your browser might say:

Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your info from 192.168.129.169

That’s normal for local devices. To continue:

Click "Advanced" (or "Details") on the warning page.

Then click "Proceed to 192.168.129.169 (unsafe)".

Don’t worry, this is safe because it’s your local printer.

Set Up Scan to Email in EWS

Once inside the EWS:

Go to the Scan tab > Scan to Email Setup.

Click Outgoing Email Profiles.

Click New and set the SMTP server info.

Example SMTP Settings (Gmail):

SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com

Port: 587

SMTP Authentication: Yes

Encryption: STARTTLS

Email: your Gmail address

Password: Gmail app password (not your actual Gmail password; create one here)

Don’t forget to enable “Allow less secure apps” or set up an app password for Gmail or Outlook.

Save and Test

After saving your settings:

Go to the printer

Tap Scan > Email

Test sending a scan

I hope this helps.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍
