few weeks ago i bought this printer and i installed the drivers etc, when i accessed the the EWS panel in browser via the IP i set the password from there so that no one can change the ip settings except me. then few weeks later when i tried to access that panel i was unable to access because i didnt remember the password

i have tried re-installing the drivers but still when i access that it says enter username and password, all i want to do is anyhow reset all the setting so that password should be removed and i will be able to change ip and other setting from EWS panel.

Thank you

have a nice day

Thanks for the reply,

Let's try the below steps.

1. Open the HP Embedded Web Server (EWS):

Network-connected printers

a. Print a configuration page to determine the IP address or host name.

  • i. Press and hold the Cancel button until the Ready light begins blinking.
  • ii. Release the Cancel button.

b. Open a web browser, and in the address line, type the IP address or host name exactly as it displays on the printer configuration page. Press the Enter key on the computer keyboard. The EWS opens.

NOTE: If the web browser displays a message indicating that accessing the website might not be safe, select the option to continue to the website. Accessing this website will not harm the computer.

2. Click the Settings tab.

3. Select the Restore Factory Settings option, and click the Apply button.

The printer automatically restarts.

If the issue persists, I would personally suggest you contact our HP phone support for one on one interaction.

If your product is out of warranty, then remember to choose the paid options to get the tech support number.

They might have multiple options to help you on this.

Please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp

Step 2. Sign in / sign in as a guest

Step 3. Enter the product number or select to auto detect

Step 4. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Step 5. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number and phone number appear.

Keep me posted on further assistance. Hope that helps!
