Hi @Lillian28,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

The "Printer Needs Attention" error on your HP DeskJet 2755e All-in-One Printer can be frustrating, especially after trying several suggested steps without success. Let’s go through some advanced troubleshooting steps to address this issue.

1. Restart Printer and Reset Power

Sometimes, a complete reset can resolve stubborn errors.

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait 1-2 minutes to drain any residual power.
  • Plug the printer back in and power it on.
  • Try printing a test page to check if the issue is resolved.

2. Check for Jammed Paper or Obstructions

Ensure there are no paper jams or small pieces of paper stuck inside the printer, which could trigger an error.

  • Open the printer’s access panel and check for any jammed paper or obstructions in the paper feed.
  • Remove any bits of paper or debris, if present.
  • Check the paper tray to ensure it’s loaded correctly and that the paper size settings match the paper in use.

3. Check Ink Cartridges

A misaligned or problematic ink cartridge can also trigger errors.

  • Open the printer's ink cartridge door and remove both cartridges.
  • Inspect for any protective tape that might still be attached to the cartridges.
  • Clean the copper contacts with a lint-free cloth and reinsert the cartridges.
  • Close the cartridge door and wait for the printer to realign.

4. Update Printer Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause various errors. Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date.

  • Download the latest firmware for your HP DeskJet 2755e from the HP Support website.
  • Install the firmware update on your printer and restart the printer to see if the error is resolved.

5. Reset the Printing System (Windows/Mac)

Resetting the printing system on your computer can fix communication issues between the printer and the computer.

On Windows:

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click the HP DeskJet 2755e and select Remove device.
  • Re-add the printer after restarting your computer.

On Mac:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click on the printer list and select Reset printing system.
  • Re-add the printer.

Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hi @Lillian28 ,

Please find the remaining steps below.

6. Reinstall Printer Drivers

Corrupted or outdated drivers can lead to errors. Reinstall the latest printer drivers.

  • Uninstall the printer from your computer through Control Panel (Windows) or System Preferences (Mac).
  • Download and install the latest drivers from the HP Support website.

7. Check Wireless Connection

If you're using the printer wirelessly, the issue could be with the connection.

  • Ensure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
  • Perform a network reset on the printer:
    • Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons on the printer for 5 seconds until the Power light blinks.
    • Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network using the HP Smart app.

8. Factory Reset the Printer

If the issue persists, performing a factory reset might help clear any deep-seated errors.

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Press and hold the Resume button (triangle) while turning the printer on.
  • Continue holding the Resume button until the printer powers on and resets itself.

9. Check for Hardware Malfunction

If the error still appears, there may be a hardware issue with the printer. In this case, contact HP Support for assistance, especially if your printer is still under warranty.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact HP Phone Support for further assistance or possible repair/replacement.

Keep me posted for further assistance
