Hi @dasd2,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're having trouble checking the ink levels for your HP DeskJet 2547 through the HP Smart app, you can try checking the ink levels directly from the printer or through your computer. Here's how you can do it:
Using the Printer Software on Windows
Access the Printer Software: From your computer, you can access the HP printer software. Click on the start menu and look for your HP printer name or model. If you have the full software package installed, it should appear there.
HP Printer Assistant: Open the HP Printer Assistant software. This software usually installs with the full feature driver package available from HP's website.
Estimated Ink Levels: Inside the HP Printer Assistant, look for a tab or section labeled ‘Estimated Ink Levels’ or similar. This will display a graphic showing the levels of ink remaining in each cartridge.
Using the Printer Software on macOS
Open System Preferences: Click on the Apple icon in the top left corner of your screen, then select 'System Preferences'.
Printers & Scanners: Select ‘Printers & Scanners’. Find your printer in the list on the left.
Options & Supplies: Select your printer, then click on ‘Options & Supplies’.
Supply Levels: Click on the ‘Supply Levels’ tab to view the ink or toner levels.
On the Printer’s Control Panel
If your HP DeskJet 2547 has a control panel display (though this model might have limited display features), you can usually check ink levels directly from there. Look for an ink drop icon or a ‘levels menu’. However, if the display is limited, this option might not be available.
HP Smart App
Since you mentioned that the HP Smart app doesn't show the ink levels, make sure that:
- Your printer is properly connected to your network and is accessible.
- You have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed.
- The printer firmware is up-to-date.
Printer Status Report
As a last resort, you can print a 'Printer Status Report' directly from the printer's control panel (if available). This report often includes current ink levels or cartridge health.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
