Hi @PM39A,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Step-by-Step Instructions

Install Printer Software:

  • Ensure you have the latest printer software and drivers installed on your MacBook Air. You can download these from HP's official website.

Connect Your Printer:

  • Connect your HP Smart Tank printer to your MacBook Air using a USB cable or via your local Wi-Fi network.

Add Printer to Your MacBook Air:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click on the + button at the bottom-left corner to add a new printer.
  • Select your HP Smart Tank printer from the list and click Add.

Printing in Color

Open Document to Print:

  • Open the document or photo you wish to print in the application (e.g., Preview, Word, Pages).

Open Print Dialog:

  • Click File > Print (or press Command + P).

Select Printer:

  • Ensure that your HP Smart Tank printer is selected in the Printer dropdown menu.

Adjust Print Settings:

  • In the print dialog, click on Show Details to access detailed print settings.
  • Navigate to the Color Options or Quality & Media section (the exact name may vary depending on your printer software).
  • Ensure Color is selected instead of Black and White.

Choose Print Settings (if needed):

  • Adjust other print settings like paper size, quality, etc., as required.

Print:

  • Click Print to start the printing process.

I hope this helps.
